We’re a month into the new year, and I want to talk a little bit about quitting, because this is about the point when people start to quit and give up on their goals. You’ve set smart goals like we talked about at the beginning of the year. You’ve set up a plan to get where you want to be. You’ve been working hard.

Now though, we’re getting to the point where you start getting busy. You’re tired. You have a lot of stuff you want to do. Your friends want to go hang out. However, to do those things, you’d have to quit. You’d have to decide to put those things above your dreams. And if you did that, all the work you’ve done up until this point would be for nothing.

Eric Thomas, one of the best motivational speakers on the planet, says it like this – “Don’t quit – you’re already in pain, get a reward from it!” You’ve done all this hard work to get where you are, but the job isn’t done yet. You’re not where you want to be yet.

This is the point where you have to tell yourself that that dream is more important. Your goal is more important. It won’t be easy – sometimes you’ll have to miss out on hanging out with friends. “Sorry, I can’t. I have to practice” isn’t always an easy thing to say, but you have to ask yourself if it’s worth it.

Eric Thomas says it like this – “When you want to succeed as much as you want to breathe, you’ll be successful.” What he means is that when succeeding at your goals is the #1 priority in your life, then you’ll find a way to make it happen.

This isn’t a visualize success and it will happen thing.

This is about the grind.

This is about going out EVERY SINGLE DAY and doing what you need to do to be successful.

It’s so easy to quit. It’s easy to not put in the extra time to achieve your dreams.

Don’t quit – you’re already in pain – get a reward from it!
