This workout helps you develop your dribbling while running. It contains three drills that will help your develop your dribbling skills while dribbling at high speed. The best way to dribble a soccer ball while running is to use the outside of your foot to push the ball forward in stride. This allows you to maintain control of the ball while still maintaining a good running form.

THE WORKOUT

Drill 1

Dribble full length of field (down and back) – Alternating feet, 2 touches each, outside of foot using the outside of your foot, touch the ball forward twice with the outside of your right foot, then twice with the outside of your left foot. Continue this pattern for the full length of the field, down and back.

Drill 2

Dribble full length of field (down and back) – Outside, Inside Touches, Alternating Feet – Touch the ball with the outside of your right foot, then push it back across your body with the inside of your right foot. Touch the ball with the outside of your left foot, then back across your body with the inside of your left foot. Continue this pattern for a full field length down and back.

Drill 3

Dribble full length of field (down and back) – Alternating feet, 2 touches with a stepover, outsides of feet – Like the first exercise, but this time, after taking your second touch with a foot, do a stepover over the ball before you switch feet. Continue this patter for a full field length down and back.

Repeat this sequence five times to complete this workout.
